Art for a New Future will bring together artists impacted by criminal legal systems, teaching artists, arts advocates, and allies to build community around our shared commitment to reimagining justice through the arts. Through interactive and embodied art experiences, skillsharing, and conversation, participants will learn, create, and connect to harness the liberatory power of art.
Confirmed plenary panelists include Mariame Kaba, Ndume Olatushani, and Nicole Fleetwood!
Justice Arts Coalition seeks to eliminate all barriers, financial and otherwise, to attendance. Our payment tiers are structured on an equity scale to accommodate varied financial abilities. Ticket prices include access to all sessions over all three days and is self-determined. Please consider your proximity to power, privilege, and resources when selecting a ticket tier so that we can move towards equity. Funds raised through registrations will cover convening expenses, including honorariums for our presenters; net proceeds will support increased honorariums for system-impacted presenters.
Camellia will offer “Embodying Freedom: Abolishing the Prisons in Our Cells” from 2:30-3:30pm Eastern on the first day of the convention.
