Self-Healing Qigong with freeskewl
For millenia, Daoists have observed 五種流行之氣, the flow of cosmic qi through five phases of energetic transformation. Wood 木 mù, Fire 火 huǒ, Earth 土 tǔ, Metal 金 jīn and Water 水 shuǐ manifest in the planets, constellations, seasons, and our own bodies. Self-Healing Qigong Meditation is a series of practices passed down by 38 generations of Ni family healers, integrating these five elemental energies within the microcosm of our soma. From a Daoist perspective, we embody the qi of Jupiter, Mars, Earth, Saturn, Venus and Mercury in our meridians, 臟腑zangfu organs and 丹田dantian energy centers. In this class, we will re-connect to the stardust + solar system in our cells + viscerae, aligning our breath + movement to support qi flow. By attuning our posture + respiration to ancient protocols, we tap into deep knowing, agency + awareness. The goal of our practice is to access the inner wisdom + healing capacities that are our birthright, supporting our bodies as microcosms of all Existence.
Note: Consult your physician before beginning any exercise programs. Results may be obtained through disciplined and correct practice of Qi Gong. Qi Gong is intended to be used as a supplement to proper medical care, and is not intended as a replacement.

somatic wayfinding
For our ongoing research residency into spatial and access intimacy, one aspect of our exploration is how to build respect for each others’ diverse embodied experiences in online contexts. What practices can we imagine to affirm our physical sensations and connections in digital spheres?
Our co-conspirator Camellia Dao-Ling offers a Qigong gathering to explore these ideas. This practice, which emphasizes embodied encounters and sensory attunement, becomes a radical tool for sensory affirmation in digital/hybrid spaces.
Through this gathering, we will use our bodies to explore, learn and reflect on digital/hybrid spatial and access intimacy. How can attuning to our embodied constellations – from our bodies’ key acupoints, to the webs of our ancestors, communities, and digital networks – help us foster kinship and care in online contexts?
*If the lower tier suggested donation is not accessible, please reach out so we can find alternative economies of care.
李道玲 Camelia Dao-Ling (they/she) is passionately engaged in an artistic practice of ancestral healing as community care. They share the Daoist medicines of their lineage to seed futures of Black liberation + indigenous sovereignty.
This is an offering of NAVEL + virtual care lab’s open microresidency project with The Bentway and From Later.
