There have been two times in my life when my nervous system was still.
The first was on a mountainside in Taiwan under a full moon in 2011. I felt a buzzing static I had taken for granted flicker off.
The second was at the beginning of my initiation ceremony in rural Ogun state, Nigeria on December 1, 2022. Barefoot in the red dirt, my mind went quiet and I felt my body from the inside out.
I felt fully safe in this skin. I remembered who I am, who all of us are - infinite starlight radiating from the center of all time.
That's not a feeling I can buy or sell. Not even in this book.
In marketing there's a practice of describing an audience's "pain point" and writing copy to target that need. I will not promise you that my book can take away the dissonant agony of being a sensitive soul in a society at odds with nature.

This book has healed and blessed me ever since she made herself known to me in 2019. She gave me a sense of empowered agency when I almost gave up on acupuncture school. She helped me pay the elders in Nigeria for consecrating my body to Spirit. As I allow myself to be visible as her author, she is offering me the chance to face layers of self-doubt I thought I left behind in adolescence.
