On the lantern festival, the first full moon of the year of the Ox, join Sanyu Estelle and Camellia Dao-Ling for divination. Soothsayer Sanyu will do a collective reading for the year of the Yin Metal Ox, and Camellia will go over feng shui and astrological influences for the year to come. We will also do some Qi Gong, meditate, and discuss Daoist practices to flow with the changes to come. We are celebrating Sanyu's debut album Good Grief as a model for working with the metal element energy of sadness. The recording will be available for seven days after the event.

For the age of Aquarius, let's move away from racist algorithms that concentrate resources in the hands of the already famous, while silencing and shadow banning Black and indigenous voices. We're following the lead of Persephone Young and their ancestors in the tradition of marronage: African people who escaped colonized spaces and created free communities (often in the hills of Caribbean islands). We also gather in the spirit of hush harbors, a sacred African American tradition on Turtle Island, wherein Black folks slipped into the forest at night to practice communal care.
